Dr. Lang-Anderson’s Work in College of General Dentistry’s Journal Published

Dr. Elvira Lang-Anderson’s work on “Procedural hypnosis: a powerful tool for reducing stress, anxiety and pain in clinical dental care” has been published in the College of General Dentistry’s Primary Dental Journal!

In collaboration with Jodie Nelson and John Duthie, this article shows how stressful encounters can be managed in the dental practice environment by applying hypnotic techniques for anxious and stressed patients to better cope with dental interventions.

Whether it’s navigating negative feedback, juggling unrealistic expectations, or managing complex patient needs, the pressures can be difficult to manage.

One approach involves developing strong rapport and communication skills in interventional healthcare. By learning to effectively manage stress, you can create a more supportive and productive environment.

This journal explores how dental professionals can use hypnotic strategies and rapport-building methods to navigate stressful encounters and create a more positive experience for everyone in the practice.
